Emergency care is provided by Small Animal Clinic on a 24-hour basis. In case of long queues, emergency care is provided according to principles of triage – it means the patients in a more critical state are treated first.
We ask you to be understanding and patient even if you have to wait in the clinic for longer than expected. We really want to help you and your animal, but there may be other patients requiring emergency care at the same time and their health issues at the present moment may be more serious than those of your animal.

NB! It is essential to phone the clinic prior to the visit to make sure the clinic is best prepared to receive the patient or to get vital recommendations. During the day, your call will be taken by the receptionist, during the night – by the veterinarian on duty. In order to enhance collaboration, we kindly ask you to answer the posed questions as exactly as possible and follow the guidelines provided by the receptionist / veterinarian. Based on your answers, the receptionist/ veterinarian decides whether your problem needs immediate emergency care or treatment may be postponed until the appointment during the regular working hours. In case of excessive number of patients, you may be directed to a different clinic, where provision of emergency care is possible at the moment. We cannot guarantee you emergency care of your animal if you arrive at the clinic without prior notice.
• Getting hit by a car
• Respiratory failure, asphyxia
• Severe bleeding
• Cramps/ Seizures
• Unconsciousness
• Acute/ Sudden enlargement of the abdomen/ abdominal swelling, continuous ineffective vomiting
• Heat stroke/ hyperthermia, hypothermia
• Poisoning (e.g. rat poison, antifreeze, human medications)
• Allergic reaction (e.g. insect or viper stings, sensitivity to medications)
• Parturition/ Whelping problems
• Urination problems
• Acute/Sudden loss of mobility/ paraplegia
If the patient is referred to our Small Animal Clinic by another veterinary institution, the latter (the corresponding animal clinic) is required to inform us about the situation prior to the emergency visit. In this case, we ask you to take all the medical records and test results, as well as information about the prescribed or performed treatment.
During emergency visit, essential emergency procedures and manipulations are conducted depending on the animal condition. The condition of critical patients is primarily stabilised and monitored. All the additional diagnostic procedures are performed afterwards. • It is obligatory to previously register for the appointment via phone. According to the primary complaint(s), clinic receptionist will find the suitable specialist and time for the consultation.
• During registration, clinic receptionist will provide preliminary overview of the cost of the procedures, however, the exact treatment costs will be calculated during the visit, after clinical examination of the patient and veterinarian and owner’s joint decisions about further diagnostic procedures and treatment plan.
• During regular working hours, it is possible to pay for the consultation and procedures in cash or using a bank card. The clinic does not issue invoices to private persons. Outside regular working hours, it is possible to pay for animal clinic services only using a bank card.
• If your veterinarian suggests conducting additional diagnostic procedures/ tests in our animal clinic, the reference is required accompanied with an abstract of the medical case history, or your veterinarian has to directly contact the clinic prior to the registration. Reference form
• If you come to the clinic with a dog, the animal has to be on the leash or in the animal carrier. Cats and other smaller animals have to be in the carrier. If you do not have a leash or carrier, ask for those the reception desk before entering the clinic with the animal. link opens in new page
25% will be added to the visit fee for an unregistered patient.
• NB! During the night (20.00 - 09.00) and at the weekend (Sat – Sun) extra-charge of 50% of the regular fee is added to the price of the procedures.
• Visit fee comprises visit, registration, preliminary clinical examination, consultation, and, if necessary, calculation of the cost of further diagnostic tests and procedures.
• It is possible to pay for the consultation and procedures in cash or using a bank card. NB! During the night, it is possible to pay for animal clinic services only using a bank card!
• The clinic does not issue invoices for bank transfers to private persons! Based on preliminary agreement, the clinic may issue invoices for bank transfers to organisations (e.g. public organisations, animal shelters).
